Technical Assistance Services
What is Technical Assistance?
Technical Assistance is a way to assist parent centers to improve their ability to solve problems by providing information and linking centers with resources.
How Can Region C Help?
- We are the first place to call when parent centers have a question.
- We help centers identify needs through an assessment process.
- We provide regular opportunities for networking with other parent centers.
- We provide information, education, and support to assist centers to increase the capacity of boards, managers, and staff.
What TA Services Does the Region C PTAC Provide?
The Region C PTAC offers a targeted and intensive TA designed to increase the capacity of parent centers to reach and provide services to parents of children with disabilities and youth with disabilities and to effectively manage their centers. We work with each center and tailor services to meet their unique needs. Strategies used are shared professional learning, coaching and mentoring, and collaboration and leadership. Some examples of services provided are:
- One-on-one centered support
- In collaboration with UWM, a Nonprofit Management Certification Program
- Virtual Board Training Program
- "Bite-Sized" PD Messages
