Week 2 – December 10th, 2024 Theme: Data on Equal Access to Education

While we all know using our own Parent Center data to design our program work is important; knowing where to find federal, state, and national trend data to cite in our reports and grants is essential too. One great resource to have bookmarked is the Office of Civil Rights (OCR). The home page is here: https://civilrightsdata.ed.gov/

Week 3 – December 17th, 2024 Theme: Suspensions and Expulsions in Public Schools

The OCR data sets allow users to drill down into topics like suspension and expulsion broken out by race, age, gender, and school district. The site also contains summary sheets like as this one for use in citing the basis for our important work: https://civilrightsdata.ed.gov/assets/downloads/Suspensions_and_Expulsion_Part2.pdf
